Branding a product that’s rebranding obituaries
Not only did this product give me some insight into the world of start ups, it was also a design challenge to focus on a target audience that is going through something so heavy and wrought with emotions. Because of this, I used soothing colors, shapes and fonts. I also used circles to symbolize that they’re creating a community.
INITIAL EXPLORATION
My branding design process starts with an exploration of three options. To avoid any bias by introducing a colorstory at this phase, the logos are shared in black and white.

ESTABLISHING A COLORSTORY
Once a direction is chosen we shift into color exploration, presenting three different colorstory options.

BRINGING THE BRAND TO LIFE
From here I explore the identity system. The pieces I produce are determined by the phase of the business, industry and client interests. This design exploration happened shortly after the pandemic began so notecards and Zoom backgrounds were a must.
